Saharanpur (Wood works)



This area in Uttar Pradesh is known for its talented wood carvers. Their work is carried on via a family tradition. Most of the items created using the wood of the Sheesham, Dudhi, and Sal trees are made from these areas. They can even work with various kinds of wood, like  Ebony, Teak, and Mahogany. Some of the famous designs contain religious artifacts, furniture, chests, mirrors, and kitchen cabinets.

The state of Orissa has a powerful and diverse ethnic handicraft industry. It is known for its different forms of metal and wood work, also  silver and embroidered work. One of the most famous techniques used in this industry is the utilize of cut patches of cloth that are attached to each other.
